Rigid AMOLED Panel Shipments by Application, 2020-2022
Flexible AMOLED Panel Shipments by Application, 2020-2022
In 2022, we expect to see a decrease of overall rigid OLEDs as several brands continue to focus their efforts toward flexible and foldable OLEDs for smartphones in order to raise ASPs and overall revenue as well as Samsung Display shifting rigid capacity from smartphones to notebook PCs. For all applications, we expect rigid OLEDs to decrease to a 44% unit share from 48% in 2021. Flexible OLEDs are expected to account for a 54% unit share, up from 50% in 2021. Foldable OLEDs are expected to increase to a 2% unit share, up from 1% in 2021.
AMOLED Panel Procurement by Form Factor, 2020-2022
In 2022, for OLED smartphone panel suppliers, we expect SDC to account for a 63% unit share, down from 71% in 2021 as BOE gains share as a result of supplying flexible OLED displays for the Apple iPhone 13 as well as others gaining unit share for rigid and flexible OLED smartphone displays.
